With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching next year, political activities across parties are intensifying. Vijaya Prabhakaran, son of late DMDK leader Captain Vijayakanth and the newly appointed Youth Secretary of DMDK, recently addressed the media and made some bold remarks—especially in relation to actor-turned-politician Vijay.
When asked about Vijay and the possibility of an alliance, Vijaya Prabhakaran said,
“I’ve only met Vijay a couple of times. The last time was at our home after his film Code was released. But we haven’t had any political discussions or alliance talks.”
He then addressed comparisons being drawn between himself and Vijay:
“I’m 33 years old, and Vijay is 50. Don’t compare me to him. Yes, he is my senior in age, but when we spoke about politics, he himself graciously said, ‘You’re senior to me in politics.’ I take pride in that acknowledgment and respect him deeply.”
Acknowledging Vijay’s influence in cinema, he added:
“When it comes to cinema, Vijay is a veteran. He’s a big name with lakhs of youth following him—just like my father Captain had two decades ago. That kind of youth power is a real strength.”
When asked about Vijay’s recent statement expressing confidence in coming to power in 2026, Vijaya Prabhakaran responded firmly:
“That’s his belief. I don’t see it that way. Ultimately, it’s for the people to decide.”
His remarks have sparked conversations online, especially his confident stance about his political seniority and the subtle contrast he drew between his and Vijay’s political journeys.
