We had earlier reported the opening day collections of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's grand Pongal release 'Bairavaa' in Chennai Box office. Now we come up with the details of what the film has garnered in the next three days that included two holidays of Pongal season.

On its first day (January 12) despite being a weekday, the film had collected Rs.92 lakhs from Chennai alone. The second day being a weekday the collections had reportedly dipped a little only to pick up on the third day which was Pongal festival holiday (Jan 14) .

In the weekend between January 13-15 the film has collected a whopping sum close to Rs.2.5 crores (Rs.2,45,51,820). This comes from 560 shows across 23 screens with a fantastic 95% occupancy. The total collection for the four day weekend (including the first day) comes to Rs.3,38,73,610.

With this 'Bairavaa' settles for the Second Best Opening for a Vijay starrer in Chennai. The opening record set by Vijay's previous blockbuster 'Theri' remains untouched as far as Chennai city is concerned.

Today (January16) is also a traditional holiday for Government establishments and schools and much to the luck of the film's stakeholders, the State Government has announced a holiday for tomorrow (January 17)also as it is the Centenary Birthday of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.G.Ramachandran. Four holidays at a stretch will ensure great footfall for the theaters and 'Bairavaa' first week collections is sure to set new records at the Chennai Bo.
