Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has been known for being very connected with his fans, and for his down to earth nature. He has involved himself in many philanthropic activities, and has helped a lot of people. He had gifted a car for an NGO coordinator who was working on rehabilitation of bonded labors earlier.

Now another helping gesture of the actor has come to light. Vijay Sethupathi has helped an aspiring astronaut from Theni. Udhaya Keerthika who studied in a government school in Theni, had later completed aircraft maintenance engineering in Ukraine, and aspired to be a part of the ISRO team in 2022 as an astronaut.

Having secured a seat in Analog Astronaut training center in Poland, Udhaya Keerthika had to pay 8 lakhs for this training, and getting to know this, Vijay Sethupathi has contributed the amount required for the training, through his fan club, and also spoke to her through phone call. Vijay Sethupathi's next release Sindhubaadh is expected to release this week.
