Vijay Sethupathi has become one of the most celebrated star actors in Indian cinema in recent times. In 2013 the director and the actor reunited for a new film 'Idam Porul Yeaval' based on a story by noted novelist S. Ramakrishnan.

'Idam Porul Yeaval' was taken over by N. Lingusamy's Tirupathi Brothers and grew with several changes in the cast. The film starring Vijay Sethupathi, Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Rajesh, Nandita Shwetha and Vadivukarasi was completed that year and was planned to release on a festive date.
