Vijay Sethupathi is not only the busiest hero in Kollywood but has also endeared himself to all types of audiences by his down to earth attitude and his rational speeches on social issues. The Makkal Selvan recently appeared in an advertisement for an app called Mandi that sells grocery items online.

Around 200 persons headed by one Kolathur Ravi belonging to various trade unions surrounded Vijay Sethupathi's office in Alwarthirunagar in Chennai and started protesting his appearance in the ad and demanded that the clips be withdrawn from the public. The Valasaravakkam police rushed to the spot and arrested the persons and restored normalcy in the area. Vijay Sethupathi was not available for comment.
