Recently we had broken the news that Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be playing Sri Lankan legendary spinner Muttiah Muralidharan in his biopic and that the movie might be titled as 800 as the spinner had claimed 800 wickets in his career.

Now the official announcement on the movie is out, and it has been confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi will play the celebrated cricketer in his biopic which will be directed by Sripathy Rangasamy who had debuted in the 2010 movie Kanimozhi starring Jai and Shazahn Padamsee.

This yet to be titled movie will be produced by Bollywood production company DAR Motion pictures teaming with a South production house. Vijay Sethupathi will begin training for the movie, and Muralitharan himself will be closely associated with the team, helping the actor work on his bowling action as well. This movie is expected to release in 2020 end.
