Vijay Sethupathi's 'Merkku Thodarchi Malai' sways New York audiences

It is slowly becoming clear that there is more to Vijay Sethupathi than a superior actor, with news surfacing that he is going to write the screenplay and dialogues for one of his upcoming films as hero directed by Biju Vishawanath.

Vijay Sethupathi`s maiden production venture Merkku Thodarchi Malai`, meanwhile, is garnering huge praises on the international circuit. Acording to the director of the film, Lenin Bharathi, the film premiered at New York Indian Film Festival and the audiences consisting of Americans and Indians were so taken in by the film that they were left in tears. The film deals with the downtrodden laborers living on the hills of the western ghat in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders.
