Vijay Sethupathis salaries for Maaveeran and Jawan becomes the talk of tinsel town

Vijay Sethupathi the busiest frontline actor in India is making waves with his choice of roles and throwing surprises at his fans at regular intervals. The latest is his voice acting in arch rival Sivakarthikeyan's recently released 'Maaveeran'. Critics have lauded VJS invisible presence as much as Sivakarthikeyan's arresting performance throughout the film as a man torn between his conscience and cowardice.

Similarly Vijay Sethupathi's different look from the teaser of 'Jawan' in which he plays the chief antagonist is attracting both the north and south fans. Now coming to the remunerations for both films, it is said that Shah Rukh Khan wanted VJS so much in his film that without hesitation he paid rupees 21 Crores to him. At that time which is a few months back that was the highest ever amount paid for a villain. However Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan broke that record by a country mile reportedly receiving rupees one hundred and fifty crores (Some reports say it is actually 25 Crores).

Vijay Sethupathi has stated in his interviews has stated that he would have agreed to play the role in 'Jawan' even if he was not paid any amount for the sake of the chance to work with Shah Rukh Khan. On the other hand the Makkal Selvan reportedly refused any remuneration for lending his voice in 'Maaveeran'. He did because of the bonding he has with Sivakarthikeyan, Madonne Ashwin and producer Arun Viswa.

Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming films include 'Merry Christmas', 'Gandhi Talks', 'Maharaja', 'VJS 51' and 'Viduthalai 2' among others. He is in talks to play important characters in 'KH 233', 'Sardar 2', 'RC 16' and several other films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
