The audio launch of Rajini’s Petta happened yesterday, and Vijay Sethupathi arrived a little late at the venue. When he walked in, the whole crowd, including the superstar, stood up to welcome him.

During his speech, when asked about his experience working with Rajini, he said, “This is something that I hadn’t even dreamed of. I still cannot believe it. This is a huge deal for me.”

“Rajini Sir always thanks God when he’s appreciated. But seeing his dedication and passion towards his work, even God would applaud him from above. He also mentioned how he never thinks of the camera as a mere camera while facing it. He considers it as millions of fans watching his performance. I pray to God that someday I get that kind of responsibility as well.”

When asked to imitate Rajini, “I cannot imitate anyone, I can only play my own roles. Even while auditioning, I had told them how I cannot imitate any actor, and then performed as I normally would, like myself,” said Vijay Sethupathi.

The crowd broke into applause when he mentioned that he also got to act alongside “his Jaanu,” referring to Trisha.

When asked if he was playing the hero’s friend or the villain in the movie, he said, “My name will also be included in the history of all the villains who opposed Rajini in a movie. Competing against strong people will make you strong as well, I’m the villain in the movie.”

"Karthik Subbaraj may appear silent superficially, but he’s an energetic young man who is a bundle of talent. He always takes his audience by surprise, and that is his unique quality as a director," he further added.
