Actor Vijay has completed his Madhura and shooting for his next, Thirupachi, has begun. Vijay plays a poor farmer's son in Thirupachi. Acting opposite Vijay is actress Trisha. The duo's earlier release Ghilli is still running to packed houses in a few theatres across the State. Actress Mallika, who played an important role in Cheran's Autograph, is also in the cast. The movie is produced by R B Choudhary, who earlier churned out movies including Poovae Unnakaga and Shahjahan with Vijay.

Interestingly, neither Vivek nor Vadivelu is going to play the role of comedian in Thirupachi. Actor Benjamin, who played Cheran's school friend in Autograph, is all set to play a humorous role in the film. Music director Dhina of Manmadharasa-fame is composing the music. All the six songs have been recorded with a couple of songs being penned by director Perarasu himself.

A major portion of the movie would be shot in villages in southern districts of Tamilnadu. Asked about the film, the director said, the movie is an action-packed film with humor and romance in the right-mix.

The movie is slated for release January, 2005.
