For the past few weeks, a particular social media post has gone viral. "In April, there were no empty beds in hospitals. In June, there are no empty rooms in hotels/lodges." The tourism sector has picked up pace after the unlock process was begun in June.

We are witness to the sight of thousands of tourists throwing caution to winds during the pandemic. In such one incident of rank recklessness, a video of hundreds of tourists taking a bath at the famous Kempty Falls in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, has surfaced on the internet. In the video, it can be seen that the tourists are maskless.

The viral video proves yet again that the terrible second wave, which submerged the country in fear and grief, has not resulted in zealous adherence to covid-appropriate behaviour.

Before the second wave, covid-inappropriate behaviour was witnessed widely in the shape of election rallies and religious gatherings, among others. Of late, crores of Indians are back to square one. On the streets, most of the people are not masking up. We are inviting the third wave!
