Director Pandiraj's latest film 'Pasanga 2' has been declared as a box-office hit and the film is continuing its merry run at the theaters in its second week of release. The number of shows in prime screens in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu have been increased for the film owing to the phenomenal response from the audience.

Now Pandiraj is busy day and night with the final stages of work of his next film 'Kathakali' with Vishal and Catherine Thresa in lead roles. The film touted as an action entertainer will be hitting the screens on Pongal 2016 which is just a couple of weeks away from now.

Today the film has been watched by the Censor Board officials and they have given a clean 'U' rating for the film. Director Pandiraj has confirmed this in his official Twitter handle. The U rating has come as a pleasant news as this makes the film eligible for the 30% Entertainment tax exemption granted by the Tamil Nadu Government.

'Kathakali' has musical score by Hip hop Tamizha Aadhi and Balasubramaniem has handled the cinematography. The film has been produced by Pandiraj on first copy basis and it will be presented by Vishal under the Vishal Film Factory banner.

The theatrical rights of the film have been acquired by Sri Thenandal Films banner.
