Saturday, July 15, 2017 • Tamil Comments

Vishal who is the General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam and the President of Producers Council met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy in the State Assembly Headquarters in Chennai on Friday.

After meeting the CM he addressed the press and media persons. To question about the staunch opposition by religious fringe groups against veteran actor Kamal Haasan for his Big Boss show, Vishal said "Kamal Haasan sir will not get into anything without learning about it completely. If Big Boss is a wrong program he would have definitely desisted from taking part in it. I feel that the Minister could have avoided referring to him in a singular (disrespectful) tone. If Kamal sir faces an issue, the entire film industry will stand with him in support."

A religious fringe group Hindu Makkal Katchi has been vehemently opposing Kamal Haasan and Big Boss for it allegedly denigrates Tamil culture. On Friday they conducted a protest in front of Haasan's house in Alwarpet, Chennai.  (Read: Group including students protest in front of Kamal's house)
