The 65th Filmfare Awards event was held in Hyderabad but Kollywood was under represented as many of the celebrities including most of the winners decided to boycott the event. This was due to the Nadigar Sangam's new policy of attracting revenue by asking Awards organisers to donate to the association if they want their members to attend.
Vishal has personally thanked those who adhered to the request stating I sincerely thank Nayanthara, Karthi, Simbu, Khushbu and other friends for understanding the associations sentiments and policy and not attending the award function though they were winners. Big thanks. This iniatitive is just to generate money for our senior artistes pension god bless.
