Vishnu Manchu set to adopt Chittoor district's basketball team

Giving a presentation to PS Pradyumna, IAS, District Collector, Chittoor, Vishnu Manchu has offered to adopt the district'ss men's and women's basketball team. He will also be the team's mentor, working closely with the district administration.
"Sports development demands a great amount of inclusiveness and focus on transforming villages into model sports villages by providing all-round infrastructural development along with an emphasis on empowerment. This kind of district adoption plan has the potential to transform rural India," the actor has said in a statement.
Being a national level basketball player during his college days, leading the University team and representing India during 1999-2001, Vishnu himself is passionate about sports. He was involved with many sporting activities over the years and indeed happy to contribute to the development of the team and lend them all support including infra development, financial support to nurture, train and scale up the aspirations of the basketballers from Chittoor district.
