The much-anticipated theatrical trailer of Kannappa, Vishnu Manchu’s mythological magnum opus, has finally been unveiled by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal—and it’s nothing short of breathtaking. Blending high-octane action with deep spiritual themes, the 174-second trailer offers a grand spectacle, setting the tone for an emotional and visually rich cinematic experience.
The story follows Tinnadu, a fierce warrior and staunch atheist, played by Vishnu Manchu. He openly mocks his girlfriend’s devotion to Lord Shiva—until fate intervenes. In a compelling moment, Goddess Parvati questions Shiva about how someone like Tinnadu could ever become his greatest devotee. The lord simply smiles, signaling the beginning of a transformative journey.
The arrival of Rudra, portrayed by pan-India superstar Prabhas, acts as a divine catalyst in Tinnadu’s spiritual awakening. What follows is a profound metamorphosis—from an arrogant non-believer to the revered devotee Kannappa. Vishnu Manchu delivers an impressive performance, navigating the emotional and physical extremes of both avatars with striking contrast.
The trailer opens with intense battle sequences, massive sets, and sweeping visuals, before transitioning into its emotional core. Scenes between Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu stand out as some of the most powerful moments in the trailer, leaving fans eager for more.
The film also boasts a star-studded ensemble: Akshay Kumar makes a commanding appearance as Lord Shiva, while Kajal Aggarwal radiates divinity as Goddess Parvati. Mohanlal appears as the mysterious Kirata, and the cast is further enriched by the presence of Mohan Babu, Sarathkumar, Preity Mukhundhan, Madhoo, and Brahmanandam in crucial roles.
Directed by Mahabharat (Hindi) fame Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa is produced under the banners of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment by Vishnu Manchu. The film’s stirring background score and songs are composed by Stephen Devassy, adding depth to the mythological narrative.
Kannappa is set for a massive global theatrical release on June 27, 2025, and promises a timeless story of transformation, faith, and divine grace—told on a truly epic scale.
