'Joseph' is a blockbuster Malayalam film starring Joju George in the lead role. The acclaimed crime thriller, released in 2018, is an investigative journey that follows the lives of four retired policemen. The movie was set to be remade in several languages following its commercial and critical success.
The Tamil remake rights of 'Joseph' was bagged by the renowned director Bala, who opted to bankroll the remake under his banner with actor RK Suresh reprising the role of Joju George. John Mahendran was roped in to pen the dialogues while M Padmakumar, who directed the original version, is directing the remake too.
Apart from RK Suresh, Poorna and Madhu Shalini are playing the roles of Athmiya Rajan and Madhuri Braganza from the original respectively. Malayalam actor Anil Murali will reprise his role from 'Joseph'. 'Visithiran' is slated to hit the screens on May 6.
