Siva’s second time collaboration with music director Anirudh looks to be very positive. With already 3 songs out as single tracks, the rest of the album has been released and it’s an interesting combination to a highly energetic album. Let’s see what Anirudh has done for Ajith.

Survival:

A full on energetic song, turn this on when you work out and see the power it gives. Anirudh has mixed everything at proposal, while the underlying theme relies on synth to up Ajith’s mass factor, Yogi B’s vocals do that heavy duty work of rap mixed internationally with Tamil and English verses. The lyrics too solidly focus on AK’s rise to fame, Anirudh works it out electronically to keep the high octane energy running.

Thalai Viduthalai:

Yet another track high on energy "Thalai Viduthalai" is a brilliant track to spearhead Vivegam. With Ajith’s vocals in the track, the whole song heads towards a positive note; the rhythm, verses, vocals everything! A clean rock number localized with Anirudh style, Harish and Anirudh give their full commitment. The heavy guitar and live drumming is surely the oomph factor of this track even though its hero worship all the way.

Kadhalaada :

After two energy driven songs, Kadhalaada needs to be listened more than once to get back to your senses. Shashaa, Pradeep Kumar Anirudh keep it simple yet drive the melodious violin and Carnatic vibes to the background to keep it a hummable track. Kabilan’s interesting yet lovable lyrics of romance justify Anirudh’s score as the song heads towards a good finish. The solo violin is certainly the hero of the song, it breezes in slowly yet leaves a good mark in the Carnatic segment.

Veriyera:

Veriyera is a good song, no doubts on that, the instrumentation setup is rock with good usage of electrical guitar and as again drives on Ajith’s charisma which is way too obvious. Poorvi and Manasi run through the song’s proceedings that rides on EDM, drums and solid guitar segments. Somehow by the time the track comes to a close the end note is not completely impressive as compared to the other energetic tracks in the album.

Never give up:

Yet another positive track as Raja kumari has rendered this song on a lovable note. The whole track gives us a feel of an International English number. With the right tempo and orchestration, Anirudh scores on his rhythmic abilities yet its Raja Kumari who carries the track with her energetic vocals all the way. Thumbs up to Never give up.

AK Theme:

Builds the tempo aggressively, the tune is a delight to listen. As much as the guitar rises to the occasion along with those high decibel rock foundation the whole track is tailor made for stylish visuals with an apt BGM score. Surely one of the best themes for Ajith in a while.

Kadhaala reprise:

Anirudh leads the vocals in this short track as it becomes a classical delight through the whole rhythm. Maintaining the essence of the original the track is brief yet makes a mark with its gentle yet breezy vibe.

Verdict : Vivegam is easily one of the best albums for Ajith as well as Anirudh; the album is plethora of rock and energy.
