Television anchor turned serial actress Chithra VJ passed away early this morning reportedly by suicide after hanging herself in the bathroom of her hotel room on the outskirts of Chennai. An RDO enquiry has started since she had secretly married her fiance Hemanth Kumar by register marriage on October 19th.

Mystery surrounds the death as Chithra was seen in high spirits just hours before her death while shooting for a show for Vijay TV at the EVP Gardens and showed no signs of stress according to her costars. It is said that here were bruises on her chin causing suspicion of foul play.
