Popular television actress VJ Chithra's shocking death early on Wednesday morning has shocked her fans and her celebrity friends. Her body was reportedly found hanging in the bathroom of her hotel room on the outskirts of Chennai by her husband Hemnath. Postmortem confirmed that it was a suicide and her body was cremated on Thursday evening.

Initial investigations have reportedly revealed that Chithra was under pressure from her mother to split from Hemnath since she had suspicion on his character. Likewise Hemnath is also been accused of alcoholism and possessiveness and often used to barge into Chithra's sets and disturb her especially for acting in intimate romance scenes in serials.

Meanwhile, there is another report that a politician had been harassing Chithra and was forcing her to spend the New Year 2021 with him. It is said that several phone calls were made by the person to the actress.

On October 21st Chithra had gone to Perambalur to inaugurate a business and a ruling party MLA was also there and suspicion rose on him but he has reportedly clarified that he had only met her at the function and has never communicated with her.

Other reports suggest that a minister visited the hotel in which Chithra was staying and could be connected to the death. Minister Jayakumar has rubbished it as mere rumours and has assured that a proper police investigation is going on and what really happened will be revealed after that.
