Court's strong decision on VJ Chithra's husband's petition in her suspicious death case

Popular television actress VJ Chithra, fondly called as Chithu, was found hanging at her hotel room on the outskirts of Chennai on December 9th 2020. She was 28 years old. and according to reports had completed one of her shooting in a nearby studio and returned to her hotel room where she was staying with her husband at around 2.30 am.

Chithra's husband Hemnath had stated to the police that his wife asked him to stay out to change her dress and when he returned found that she took the extreme step. The actress who became very popular playing Mullai in the serial 'Pandian Stores' left her industry colleagues and fans in deep shock.

The deceased girl's parents accused her husband Hemnath of causing the death and eventually he was arrested and jailed and later released on bail. Apart from Chithra's parents and her friends in the television industry, Hemnath's own friends have accused him of torturing her.

Hemnath had filed a petition to quash his inclusion in FIR of the mysterious death case of Chithra. The judge hearing the case dismissed his plea. Further investigations are on to ascertain whether the actress took her own life and if so why and whether there is more to her case than meets the eye.
