Anupama Parameswaran is happy that 'Vunnadi Okate Zindagi' is bringing her accolades. In this interview, she opens up about doing glam roles, and more.

What is the response that you are getting for Maha's role in 'Vunnadi Okate Zindagi'? How did this film happen to you in the first place?

The response has been very good. I have previously done a few movies. But this film is bringing him a better response. My fans are expressing their happiness on Twitter and Facebook. My previous directors and producers are calling me to congratulate me on the performance.

The director (Kishore Tirumala) called me up and narrated the story. I was told that Maha would die. I asked him if it was a joke. He said that he meant it. He explained the rationale behind such a denouement to the character. I liked it a lot.

We heard that a lot of hard work went into it.

Yes. It's because Maha is a total contrast compared to the actual me. That's why there was difficulty in pulling it off.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the team. Even if I didn't have a scene, I would go to the spot instead of sitting back in the hotel. I used to feel happy spending time with the team.

What are your thoughts after the film's release?

I am very happy. I now understand how much the audiences are feeling sad that Maha dies. It shows how much they are loving the character.

Did you ever dream of becoming an actress?

I come from a middle-class background. I have always liked acting. That's why I wanted to enter films. I am glad that I have made it to this stage.

What are your criteria before choosing a film?

I listen to the story. I listen to it intently. If the story is good, the film will become a hit. I then think about my character in the film. My concern is not limited to my character.

Are you open for glamorous roles?

I will do. But the director should make it clear beforehand. If I am convinced about the glamor quotient, I will do.

We heard that Sharwanand is your best friend. Is it true?

Yes, he is. He is my best friend in the industry. I speak to Sai Pallavi, too, frequently. I keep in touch with a few other heroines.

What are your next movies?

'Krishnarjuna Yuddham' opposite Nani is in the making. Merlapaka Gandhi is the director. I have also signed up as the heroine of Karunakaran's film with Sai Dharam Tej.
