Earlier in the day, the Tamil Nadu State Public Health Department issued a notice to Tamil superstar Vijay for being seen as a smoker in the First Look of 'Sarkar' (Tamil), his upcoming movie. Sun Pictures and director AR Murugadoss are expected to withdraw the poster.

For the uninitiated, it all began with former Health Minister Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss creating a ruckus over the seemingly ill-fated poster. Since Vijay is a superstar, many have felt that him smoking stylishly in the film tantamounts to glamourization of smoking.

In the past, the likes of Rajinikanth have been targets of politicized stunts against smoking.

As for 'Sarkar', it stars Keerthy Suresh as the heroine. This Diwali behemoth has music by AR Rahman.
