We will revive Planning Commission: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi has promised that the Congress party, if voted to power, will reinstitute the scrapped Planning Commission. The Congress chief pooh-poohed the NITI Ayog, which was brought into existence by the Narendra Modi government soon after coming to power in 2014.

If voted to power, we will scrap the NITI Aayog. It has served no purpose other than making marketing presentations for the PM and fudging data. We will replace it with a lean Planning Commission whose members will be renowned economists and experts with less than 100 staff, Rahul said.

Meanwhile, Rahul is also in the news for mistakenly saying that his government will transfer Rs 72,000 per month to five crore poor families. He meant to say Rs 72,000 per annum.
