Wedding song Dumm Dumm from Rajinikanths Darbar Released

'Darbar', coming in the direction of 'Ghajini' and 'Thuppaki' helmer AR Murugadoss, has the legendary Rajinikanth in the lead. Presented by Subaskaran of Lyca Productions, which bankrolls huge movies, this film has the Superstar in the role of a cop named Aditya Arunachalam. To hit the screens as a Sankranthi treat, it will be released by the famous producer NV Prasad in the Telugu States. The film will hit the screens as a Sankranthi special, on January 9.

Already, Rajinikanth's introduction song, titled 'Dummu Dhooli', was out a few days ago, and has been garnering huge numbers of views on YouTube, creating records. Rendered by SP Balasubramaniam, it's written by Anantha Sriram. And, latest, a wedding song from the movie, titled 'Dumm Dumm', is out. Penned by Krishnakanth, this peppy number is sure to become a chartbuster. Within minutes of its release, the Anirudh composition has started going viral on the Internet.

Talking about the song, lyricist Krishnakanth says, "I never imagined that I would get an opportunity to pen a song in a Rajinikanth garu's movie this early in my career. It's like a dream. Before this film, I had written songs for Suriya's 'Gang' and Nani's 'Jersey' in Anirudh's music direction. He made it a point to give me the opportunity to write a song in 'Darbar'. I am delighted to have got this opportunity, given that I have grown up watching Rajinikanth garu's movies. The song, 'Dumm Dumm', comes against the backdrop of a wedding. It's somewhat philosophical, talking about how we are before and after marriage. We know that the songs in Superstar's movies are philosophical. The Tamil version of this song is penned by Vivek garu. Nakash Aziz has rendered the song, and his voice is apt for the hero's energy. I thank the makers for the opportunity. Coming to director AR Murugadoss garu, I love his 'Ghajini', 'Kathi', and 'Thupaki'. He is one of my favourite directors."
