WhatsApp has leveled up its message pinning game, now allowing users to pin up to three messages in a chat. Previously restricted to just one message, this enhancement was first spotted in a beta version of the app last week, marking a notable improvement in user experience.

In an exciting update, Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, has confirmed that users can now pin not only text messages but also media, voice notes, and emojis. This functionality is available across both individual and group chats, ensuring seamless communication for all users.

Adding to the flexibility, WhatsApp now lets users choose the duration for which a message remains pinned. The default duration is set at seven days, but users have the freedom to opt for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, depending on their preference.

Here's how to make the most of this new pin feature on WhatsApp:

For Android users, simply long-press on the desired message within a chat, then tap the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the screen. Select 'Pin,' and voila! The message will securely anchor itself at the top of the conversation, just below the person's or group's name.

When multiple messages are pinned, a handy banner will display the number of pinned messages along with a sneak peek of the latest one. Clicking on this banner reveals all pinned messages, making navigation a breeze. Additionally, users can easily specify the duration for each pinned message.

For iOS users, the process is just as straightforward. Tap and hold a message, click on 'More options,' then 'Pin,' and finally select the desired pin duration.

Web and Desktop app users aren't left out either. Simply click on the downward arrow button next to a message, choose 'Pin message,' select the pin duration, and confirm the action.

Looking ahead, reports suggest that WhatsApp, under Meta's guidance, is cooking up even more exciting features, including voice note transcription and an AI-powered image editor. Stay tuned for these upcoming enhancements that promise to further enrich the WhatsApp experience!
