What's common in 7 1/2 Phere and Chocolate

Juhi Chawla - Irrfan Khan starrer '7 1/2 Phere' may have come and is almost gone while Emraan Hashmi - Irrfan Khan starrer 'Chocolate' is soon to be released. But there is one common factor in the two movies that ties them together.
No, we are not talking about the very obvious commonality of Irrfan Khan starring in both the movies. It is in fact the cinematography of the movie that is done by one man - Attar Singh Saini. What strikes most is that his cinematography belongs to different school of art in both the movies.
While '7 1/2 Phere' has been given a small screen touch with a 70s middle-of-the-road cinema look, 'Chocolate' appears ultra stylish with jazzy frames and some striking overall appearance.
A hallmark of talent that deserves to be appreciated by the Bollywood watchers, it is also noteworthy that Attar Singh Saini made his debut 12 years back as an assistant cameraman for SRK starrer 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa', only to return as a cinematographer for '7 1/2 Phere'.
Quite a long journey indeed!
