Whispers of the Wild: Malavika Mohanan on the Enchantment of Thekkady

Actress Malavika Mohanan recently took to Instagram to share her soulful experience of filming in the lush wilderness of Thekkady for the Malayalam movie ‘Hridayapoorvam’. Known for her love of nature and adventure, Malavika was deeply moved by the serene beauty and magic of the forests she encountered during the shoot.
Having explored forests and mountains across the globe, she described her time in Thekkady as especially meaningful. She wrote:
“For a few weeks, I was in Thekkady shooting for ‘Hridayapoorvam’. Every morning I woke up to the melodies of birds, the earthy scent of wildflowers in the air, and the feeling of cool grass beneath my feet. Nights were wrapped in a soothing silence, broken only by the quiet hum of the forest—each moment felt like a gentle spell.”
She described a deep connection with nature, recounting moments of silently hugging trees and feeling a vibrant, almost mystical energy flow through them. The moonlight piercing through the foliage felt otherworldly to her, radiating a sense of peace and spiritual grounding.
“Even the water we drank there, straight from natural springs, was rich with minerals—so different from the filtered, lifeless water of the cities. And waking up to a peacock or watching noisy turkeys patrol the area outside our hut—it was like nature putting on a show just for us.”
She shared a moment of awe with fellow actress Srintha when they heard the distant call of an elephant at night—an experience that left them both speechless.
Living amidst the forest for weeks, Malavika said, was nothing short of magical. It reaffirmed her dream of someday owning a small home nestled in the heart of nature.
Currently, Malavika Mohanan is also part of two highly anticipated films—Prabhas’s ‘The Raja Saab’ and Karthi’s ‘Sardar 2′.
