Vijay-starrer 'Whistle' has mopped up Rs 6.50 Cr (Share) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the first weekend. This is the best in the Tamil superstar's career. Titled 'Bigil' in Tamil, this Atlee directorial needs to make another Rs 3.50 Cr in order to become a breakeven movie.

As for Karthi-starrer 'Khaidi', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this one too is well on its way to becoming a box-office hit. Reports say that, after a not-so-good first day, the action-thriller went on to make a very good amount on Saturday and Sunday. So much so, the first weekend figure now stands at Rs 4 Cr. Since the theatrical rights of the movie were bought for a not-so-high price, this one is sufficient.

All in all, the two dubbed movies have struck gold mainly because there was no straight Telugu film of standing.
