Sasikala, expelled AIADMK leader who is serving a four-year long prison term at Bangalore’s Parappana Agrahara Prison complex in connection with the misappropriation of assets case, has asked the Justice Arumuga Swamy Commission of Inquiry (COI) – probing the mysterious circumstances behind the 2016 December demise of former chief-minister Jayalalithaa who was under Sasikala’s care at the Hospital - to inform her as to who made the complaint against her.

Sasikala’s poser to the COI is viewed with skepticism by observers. They point out that it is baffling that instead of responding to summons as she was the one who was always at the bedside of the former chief-minister and being the person who never allowed anybody to get anywhere close to the former chief-minister during her days at the Hospital, Sasikala has the temerity to pose questions to the probe panel.

The panel has been interrogating doctors who treated Jayalalithaa, her Poes Garden aides/helpers/workers, former chief-secretaries, her personal assistant Poonkundran and others for the past few weeks. Apollo’s Dr. Balaji and former chief-secretary Sheila Balakrishnan have been asked to appear for the second time for further interrogation.

It is in this backdrop that Sasikala’s poser to the probe panel is viewed by the common man. It may be noted that several of Jayalalithaa’s friends and relatives have openly accused Sasikala of ‘playing spoilsport’ by not allowing anybody come close to the former chief-minister during her days of hospitalization at Apollo Hospitals.
