Who is the James Bond of Tamil Cinema?

Sean Connery played Ian Fleming's James Bond in 'Dr. No' in the year 1962 and ever since that agent number 007 is one of the most well- known super spies around the globe. Many dashing heroes have played James Bond over the years with the most famous besides Connery being Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan and more recently Daniel Craig whose 'Spectre' is releasing this month.

Here we take a look at some of our own Kollywood heroes who could well fit into the shoes of James Bond the super spy who loves guns, gadgets, fast cars and of course the sizzling hot women known as the Bond girls.

Rajinikanth

Well, if our Superstar wears the suit and the glasses he will be the most stylish Bond ever and what is more his body language alone will shoulder the character and all the other gadgets and car chases will become superfluous for such is Thalaivar's screen persona even in his current age.

Kamal Haasan

James Bond is not known for emotions and the focus is always on the unbelievable action scenes. If the Ulaganayagan becomes Bond he will surely bring his own to the character and add more brain to it besides the brawn. Kamal has already done Bondesque roles in 'Vikram' and 'Vishwaroopam' to perfection. Needless to say the aging Kadhal Illavarasan will still stamp his authority during the liplocks and steamy sex scenes.

Ajith

The automatic choice for playing the Kollywood version of Bond is of course Thala Ajith. His handsome looks, towering screen presence and measured swagger will drive not only his mass fans, but also regular movie goers into a frenzy. Thala has done similar roles in the 'Billa' series, 'Aarambam' and 'Yennai Arindhaal'.

Vijay

The Illayathalapathy with his subdued performance and laid back body language won laurels for his performance of the military intelligence officer in 'Thuppakki' and add to that his humor, authoritative action ability and his inimitable style when wooing ladies and you have James Bond ready to speak Tamil.

Suriya

Suriya is one actor who by his sheer hard work will get inside the skin of any character. In 'Ghajini' Suriya brought to life, Sanjay Ramaswamy who has style, class and sophistication and James Bond will be a cake walk for him.

Vikram

The consummate actor with his personality and age would probably be approved immediately by Ian Fleming himself if were alive as he was very choosy as to who should play the character he so carefully created. Chiyaan has it all to live the role of the 007.

Arvind Swamy

Post 'Thani Oruvan' the ageless charmer Arvind Swamy forces himself into this list as it is quite simple for him to transform into James Bond as all he has to do is get dressed as Siddharth Abhimanyu and just play him as the good guy.
