Why Raja might have been right..

Actor Raja, anguished at the neglection small films like his own Inkosari suffer, stated that the monopoly of a few big players was spelling doom for minor movies. He took an extreme decision by attempting to commit suicide, a few weeks back, two days after the release of the much-delayed Inkosari. It looks like his contention has some truth about it.

Look at the way films like Prasthanam and Andari Banduvaya have been seeing delay in their release for months. The films were originally slated for release in December and January, but have not seen the light of the day ever since. Though they are directed by Deva Katka (Vennela) and Chandra Siddhartha (Aa Naluguru), nothing has helped avert a crisis with regards to the release date for them.

Is it because of lack of theatres to screen such movies that don't boast of star presence or commercial elements that they have seen undue delay in release?

The films, touted to be coming with sensible messages, have only got bad treatment. We could say that monopoly is unhealthy anywhere. Come summer, the hundreds of theatres in the state will be blocked for wild cards.
