Will Smitha aura help The Dirty Picture?

  • IndiaGlitz, [Friday,December 02 2011]

The makers of The Dirty Picture may be honest in claiming that their film has nothing to do with the life and times of Silk Smitha, but it is an irrefutable fact that the audiences view the film that stars the voluptuous Vidya and the serial-kisser Emraan Hashmi, as a film based on the life of the late screen siren.

This being the case, will Dirty Picture stand to gain in Andhra Pradesh? The obvious answer of trade pundits and laymen alike will be a confident yes. In fact, with or without the Silk Smitha aura, the film is a sure winner because of the presence of Vidya Balan, the rare diva with a striking on-screen persona.

The colorful posters see a suggestive Vidya posing in the red. The posters that show her promiscuous expression on the face, as male co-stars are wrapped around her body, have caught the attention of the bystanders.

According to the lead lady of the film, this has been her most challenging role till date. The actress has also been receiving adulation for her portrayal of the role of a dancing star during the 1980s. Vidya has also been spotted dressed like a retro star during the promos.

Directed my Milan Lutharia and produced by Ekta Kapoor, it has hit the marquee today. (Incidentally, Dec. 2 happens to be the birthday of Silk Smitha).
