Woman births 10 babies, may ace Guinness World Record

In May this year, a Mali woman by the name of Halima Cisse reportedly gave birth to 9 babies in a single delivery. In less than a month. her world record is set to be pipped by another woman.

A 37-year-old woman named Gosiame Thamara Sithole, who hails from South Africa, has claimed that she gave birth to seven male babies and three female babies on June 7. Once the Guinness World Record guys ascertain the veracity of her claim, she will find a place in the register for the largest ever birth in the world.

Reports say that the woman was expected to give birth to only six babies. However, when a C-Section was performed after she developed labour pains, doctors were surprised to find that she gave birth to 10 babies. 

Tweeted BBC's Megha Mohan, "Local South African media reporting that 37-year-old Gosiame Thamara Sithole from Gauteng gave birth to 10 babies (decuplets) last night, setting a new world record. This comes barely a month after a woman from Mali gave birth to 9 children in Morocco."

The ten babies are healthy. They have been put in incubators.
