Woman teased for dark skin kills four children by poisoning food

This obsession with skin colour and tone? When it is going to end? With ads and marketing campaigns flodding social media, glorification in TV and celebrity endorsements for such products, people , especially so women are falling prey to this false notion of beauty. However, this incident where a women kills four children and an elderly man by posioning food is shocking.
The incident took place in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on June 18. The accused Pragya Survase who was humiliated for her dark complexion decided to poison the food in a relative’s house warming ceremony function. She then mixed pesticide in the food served at relative Subash Mane’s house function.
Four children and an elderly man died due to food poisoning. About 80 people were hospitalised also. The police has begun an investigation into the matter and has arrested Pragya on the charges of attempt to murder. The police also later verified that she confessed to doing this due to family disputes. In total 120 people fell ill and five dead.
