For the pretty Divya Khosla Kumar with her directorial debut ‘Yaariyan’ it’s like her 13-year old dream coming true. A long standing dream, the vivacious Divya Khosla Kumar was always inclined to direction, having directed several music videos in the past.

Divya, wife of T-Series head honcho, Bhushan Kumar, who debuted as an actress with ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo’, is excited with the release of the film’s trailer online recently. And why not, when the trailer was launched by none other than filmmaking ace Mahesh Bhatt.

Having handled both aspects of production and direction, the young mother, backed with a strong script and great music, sees the realization of a 13 year old dream with this contemporary entertainer that will have audiences leave cinema halls with a tear and a smile. Featuring fresh cast including Himansh Kohli, Rakul Preet Singh, Nicole Faria, Shreyas Pardiwalla and Devanshu Sharma, ‘Yaariyan’ is a contemporary young film that takes audiences through the trials and tribulations of the best years of their life.

Since the director took over a year and a half only on casting for the ambitious entertainer, she ensured that she found nothing but the best! "I spent a great deal of time on the casting since I needed actors who would suit the characters in the film to the T. To me these characters were real and I've lived with them through the filming of this movie. They are an extremely talented lot," stated Divya.

During the music launch Divya felt emotional since she always wanted to direct a film and now her dream has come true. She also revealed a sentimental fact, "I was pregnant while shooting for this film and I delivered a baby in the course of it. I hope I succeed with 'Yaariyan'."

Post Aashiqui 2, T-Series presents debutant director Divya Khosla Kumar’s ‘Yaariyan’ to release on 31st January 2014. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, the film’s music is by Pritam, Honey Singh, Mithoon and Arko Pravo Mukherjee.
