Yea Toh Two Much Ho Gayaa Review

Expectations

Right since the release of Dilip Kumar's 'Ram Aur Shyam', almost every big actors varying from Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajendra Kumar, Jeetendra, Dharmendra, Anil Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and many more have tried their flair of doing a double role film. 

There have been some lesser known double role films with relatively smaller stars and comedians. Though, this genre has almost died in recent times due to which there was not much expectations or excitement for Jimmy Shergill's double role film 'Yeh Toh Two Much Ho Gaya'.

Story

'Yeh Toh Two Much Ho Gaya' is a story of Mann (Jimmy Shergill), residing in Thailand with his girlfriend Tina (Bruna Abdullah). Tina gets teased by Ricky due to which Mann beats him black and blue. Ricky is the younger brother of local don MAC (Arbaaz Khan), who swears to find Mann and hand it over to his brother. 

On the other end, Mann's twin brother Mohan (Jimmy Sherfill) is residing in a small village and is in love with Mina (Pooja Chopra). Mina's brother Chaudhari (Murli Sharma) is against the marriage of Mohan and Tina, thus he decides to set Mohan in a trap. Mann and Mohan's mother (Zarina Wahab), keeps missing Mann due to which Mohan decides to find Mann and get him home. Maan is being chased by MAC's goons thus he decides to hide out for a while in his village. Both the brothers cross each other’s path and the problems of double identities begin.

The 'Glitz' Factor

The comedy track featuring Vijay Patkar is hilarious. The songs are forcefully inserted at regular intervals. While most of them fail to make their mark, songs like 'Meri Aawargi' and 'Tu Maula Hai' are melodious. 

The director narrates the story in decent manner but fails to enhance it to the second level. Jimmy Shergill is a fantastic actor and out here also he tries his level best to do justice to it. Pooja Chopra looks cute but fails to do justice to the character of a village girl. Vijay Patkar was hilarious.Technically, the movie has been presented in a decent manner and makes the movie look viewable. 

The 'Non-Glitz' Factor

The movie has been presented in bit outdated manner. The story idea is quite similar to all those lost and found type of twin brothers' stories we used to see in the 70's, 80s and the 90's era. It has the flavor of all those double role films of Jeetendra, Govinda and Mithun Chakroborty. The fight scenes will remind you of the Madras style of action, whereas the humour is silly and slapstick. 

The second half is full of many unwanted tracks and drags to the fullest whereas, the finale part is hurried. The item song was worst among all others. The movie needed a bit sharp editing and a better screenplay. 

Arbaaz Khan is strictly average as one does miss the devilish character of his.Bruna Abdullah, Murli Sharma, Zarina Wahab and Maushmi Udeshi are wasted as per their caliber. 

Final 'Glitz'

We would love to see Jimmy doing small but meaningful roles in films like 'Tanu Weds Manu', 'Happy Bhaag Jayegi' and others. This two decade old double role drama fails to get registered with today’s audiences.
