Veteran actor Y.Gee. Mahendra has been staging plays for the past five decades and is one of the few artists to carry the torch for that art form even in this digital age.  YGM is touring the US with his new play '3G' in association with Thiruveni Fine Arts and will stage fifteen shows at various cities.  The hilarious political satire play has received widespread acclaim at home and the ace actor-director is confident that it will be no different there and has asked the audience to be ready to roll out of their chairs laughing and also giving fodder for some thought in the bargain.

Superstar Rajinikanth has stated that he will never miss Y.Gee Mahendra's plays they will contain laughs as well as trigger one to contemplate.  He has showered praises on '3G' and added that he sat on the show without knowing the subject and was surprised when Mahatma Gandhi and Subash Chandra Bose appeared and the messages the characters convey were amazing.  Rajini compared the special effects of the stage play on par with his '2.0'.

Rangaraj Pandey has also praised Y.Gee.Mahendra and has stated that the veteran has filled in the space left vacant by the legendary Cho Ramaswamy in boldly satirizing current political scenarios.
