At the trailer launch event of the film "Zoraa Kaiya Thattunga" held in Chennai, popular comedian Yogi Babu addressed recent controversies surrounding his remuneration. Speaking at the event, he remarked humorously, "I don’t even know what my salary is. People outside decide these things. You decide the amount and send me a good script—but please, just make sure to pay the agreed amount."
Yogi Babu went on to say that while he always supports others in the industry, he becomes the villain only when he asks for pending payment. “Only when I ask for my dues, I’m seen as a villain. That’s the reality,” he stated.
He also spoke about skipping a couple of earlier film events, which led to criticism. Clarifying this, he explained that one such film’s lead actor was once his assistant and had requested him to act for two days. Though he wasn’t the hero, he agreed to do it. “Now people are saying I demanded 7 lakhs for that role. That's not true,” he said.
He added with frustration, “Many people owe me money. If you give me a list, I’ll go collect it myself.” Concluding his statement, Yogi Babu said, “I’ve always tried to support everyone. Let people say what they want—God is watching.”
