YSR biopic's first single is coming

'Yatra', the biopic on YS Rajasekhara Reddy, is being directed by Mahi Raghav. The film's first single, titled 'Samara Shankam', will be out on September 2 at 7am, marking the passing away of the former Chief Minister in a plane crash way back in 2009. The song has been penned by Sirivennela Seetharamasastry and rendered by Kaala Bhairava.

Making the announcement, the makers have released a poster in which Mammootty (playing YSR) is seen among beleaguered poor people. 'YSR Reborn' is the caption, suggesting that the historic Pada Yatra that the late Congress leader took ahead of the 2004 Assembly elections is timeless.

The film will hit the screens in January next.
