YVS Chowdhary does it, finally

Unlike in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, no director ever produces a film with another director in Tollywood. Thus, we do not have a Vidhu Vinod Chopra producing a film with a Rajkumar Hirani.

Turning the tables, YVS Chowdhary has done it for the first time in Telugu. The producer-director is investing his hard-earned money to fund the vision of another director. We are talking about Gunashekar's film Nippu. YVS produced many films in the past which were self-directed, but never those which were helmed by others.

Gunashekar's last film Varudu was a resounding flop. Nevertheless, YVS reposed faith in Gunashekhar, a talented director with a skill for projecting the hero as a paragon of virtues. You may hear some stories about YVS's creative involvement in the project. However, we would know his role only after the film's release.

Slated for release in January 2012, the film has Ravi Teja playing the lead. If YVS-Guna combination is praise-worthy, Guna-Ravi Teja combo is confidence-inspiring.
