‘Dunno Y.. Na Jaane Kyun’ is awarded Viewers Choice Award at Trikone International Film Festival of Sydney.

“In this festival the viewers decide the best film. The response of audience was so fantastic that we had to keep a repeat screening of the film,” says Alan Maurice the chair person of the festival. He adds, “The film is ground breaking and emotions are so real that it moves you to tears.”

Zeenat Aman who makes a comeback with this film says, “I had no second thoughts in doing this film as its one of those rare films that deals with delicate relationship with care and presents today’s women non-judgmentally.”

‘Dunno Y..’ has also won an award at Mumbai International Queer Festival and its lead actors Kapil Sharma and Yuvraaj Parashar were awarded by Deputy Chief minister Chagan Bhujbal for their sensitive and daring performance. No wonder gay activist Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil is all praises for these young actors. He remarks, “Hats off to these guys for daring to make debut in such roles which even established actors would shy off. I have already seen the film twice and looking forward to see it again and again.”

Incidentally the film also got overwhelming response at London, New York and will soon be screened at Germany. In India it opens in theatres on 29th October 2010.

It would be interesting to see whether our mainstream Indian audience is open to see a film on such a bold issue.
