'Tees Maar Khan' is one film that brings Akshay Kumar together with Farah Khan, the woman who has always been unpretentious of her love for massy flicks. While 'Main Hoon Naa' and 'Om Shanti Om' are a testimony to that, 'Tees Maar Khan' is a film which truly promises to take the legacy forward. In a free wheeling conversation with Joginder Tuteja, Akshay Kumar talks about what makes him tick with Farah Khan and their common love for commercial entertainers.

With 'Tees Maar Khan', can one be assured that this 'con comedy' would be one film that would bring you back in the kind of a role that audience love to see you most?

(Smiles) Yeah, you could say that. Having said that, as an actor I feel people should realize that in this industry it is dangerous if you only do what the audience expects as it is inevitably dangerous to attempt anything new as well. Hence the reason not every ambitious movie works. One aims to please and show versatility but 90% of the times it goes unwanted. Whoever said that 'show business' was easy, haan?

You have now worked with Farah for the first time. Was it 'let's do it quick' approach that the two of you share come in handy?

Not once would we say ‘Let’s do it quick’. ‘Let’s not Faff’ was probably the term used. We are two people that like to wake up early and throw ourselves into our work, no faffing, no time wasting, no if’s, and’s, but’s or maybe’s, just pure dedication.

Can you elaborate?

We work well together because we come from the same school of ‘work hard, try harder’. We both dream of being the Invictus duo of Bollywood, the ‘Unconquerable Ones’. If you don’t have passion for work, then don’t come. You can see our passion literally oozes out of us and I believe that’s how it should be.

No wonder, ever since the film was wrapped up, Farah has been singing praises around your professionalism while stating that if not for you, the film wouldn't have been completed inside 60 days.

For once the rumours are true (laughs). I just can’t help being a professional. And by the way, before you burst my bubble, it’s not because it was my own money; all my directors say it! But I must say Farah’s praises are like music to my ears because everyone knows that Farah giving compliments are not her favourite form of time pass (winks).

Now that must have been a reason to feel flattered...

In the middle of a sand storm, she used to say - 'Akshay I’m gonna kill you, Kat your hair is flying in the wrong direction, Akshaye khanna cheer up (winks). Guess she is just making up for all those days when she was screaming across the desert at us (laughs).
