Mammootty to raise funds for heart surgeries

Mega star Mammootty, together with his fan club is planning to raise money to support 100 heart surgeries in Kerala.

The fan club of the star has joined hands with the NIIMS (Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Sciences) Hospital at Thiruvananthapuram to fund, at least a 100 heart surgeries this year, for the poor patients.

The formal inauguration of the free heart surgery programme at NIIMS took place on the evening of last Sunday at Kochi. Mammootty will act as the brand ambassador of the programme for his fan club who will raise funds from people who are willing to contribute for the cause

Mammootty Fans and Welfare Association who is behind the venture had been the pioneer fans group behind such kinds of programs in the state, for half a decade. Earlier in 2006, the association had staged an free eye check up and donation campaign in the state, in association with the same hospital group.
