Actress Jomol is back in cinema

Actress Jomol, the reigning queen of the 90s and 2000s, is embarking on a new journey with the upcoming film 'Janaki Jaane', starring Navya Nair and Saiju Kurup in lead roles. Interestingly, besides being an actor and dancer, Jomol is trying her hand at a new skill - subtitling! Yes, you heard it right. Jomol has been roped in as the subtitler for 'Janaki Jaane', as confirmed by the makers of the movie through a social media post. This marks a new chapter in Jomol's career as she ventures into uncharted waters.

The team welcomed Jomol on board, with a lovely note, that read, “One of the most versatile personalities in Malayalam cinema... Actor par excellence, gifted classical dancer and now, into professional subtitling... A grand welcome to our swantham Janakikutty to Janaki Jane… Introducing Gauri (Jomol) @actorjomol as a professional subtitler." Take a look at the poster.

After a 14 years break Jomol returned to the cinema with the VK Prakash movie Careful. However, the movie opened to mixed responses from the audience. Jomol had won National Film Award Special Jury Mention for her performance in the 1997 movie, Ennu Swantham Janakikutty, which is still loved by the Kerala audience.

Jomol's filmography includes, Niram, Mayilpeelikkavu, Deepasthambham Mahascharyam, Punjabi House, among others. She was last seen as Tabu's sister in the 2007 movie Rakkilipaatu.

Aniesh Upaasana has written and directed 'Janaki Jaane', that is expected to provide light entertainment. Navya Nair reunites with her 'Oruthee' co-star Saiju Kurup for this film. Recently, the makers released the teaser, which received an overwhelming response from the audience. The movie also features a talented cast, including Johny Antony, Sharafudeen, Kottayam Nazeer, Anarkali Marikar, George Kora, Sminu Sijo, Pramod Veliyanadu, Anwar Shereef and many others.
