Varun Dhawan is finding himself in a very good position today, what with Karan Johar ensuring that each of his students was given a platform as strong as 'Student of the Year'.

His performance has seen all around appreciation from audience, industry as well as trade which means the tag of 'accepted' has pretty much been attached to him.

In the process he has also ended up justifying the faith that Karan Johar had shown when he decided to launch him despite the fact that he was a rank newcomer.

Since Karan had never done that before, didn't Varun's confidence level go up due to the opportunity that came his way from one of the biggest filmmakers of the country?

"Frankly, I never even thought about it when 'Student of the Year' came my way. Yes, my brother Rohit (who made his debut as a director with 'Desi Boyz') did make me think about it.

Also, being a director, he knows the kind of performance Karan Johar wants from his actors and how they need to be up to the mark. An actor has to get the homework right while performance has to be of very superior standard as well.

In fact once I understood that, there was a much higher pressure for sure. I had to be conscious about getting it right", smiles Varun.

Well Varun, looking at the film is faring, guess you indeed got it right.
