B-town Singham is now a confirmed true ‘SOS’ (read Son Of Sardaar)... In a token of thanks giving gesture Shri Charan Singh Sapra of Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board (PCHB) Gurpreet Singh Sehgal and Mohan Singh Saini gifted Ajay Devgn an embellished Kirpan after he deleted objectional scenes and shots from his forthcoming film Son Of Sardar.

When Ajay received the Kirpan he was asked if he would taste the Amrit ( a ceremony where the Sikhs are initiated with vows and drink water mixed with sugar and stirred with their swords) the actor said "I think it’s difficult for me to do that. You have to be selfless and reach another level to do that.

I have tried not to smoke whenever I wore the turban during the shooting of the film." Charan Singh Sapra of PCHB and the Sikh Community were angry with the actor when they saw the official trailer of the film. They had said that the Sikhs have been maligned and defamed by the dialogues spoken by Ajay Devgn. "A lot of people from our community sent us mails about the scenes they found objectional.

They have been cleared. There is a Gurbani geet in the film and the accent was not right. Ajay Devgn has now got it re-recorded by Sukhwinder Singh. However Ajay Devgn met the community people and deleted the scenes and dialogues they felt were objectionable. "My film Son Of Sardaar does not hurt anybody’s sentiments. I’m from Punjab and I have lot of respect for the community and culture as any anyone else and the last thing I would do is to hurt anyone. In fact I’m very proud of the community.

I am thankful to Sapra Saab and I told them that our sole intention was to entertain people. I am a Punjabi myself and I would not like to hurt the sentiments of any community.

They have guided us in the right manner and hence we have deleted the dialogues and scenes they found objectionable. The protagonist of the film is a Sardaar so the film will showcase a very positive projection of the community." Charan Singh Sapra adds further....

We are ready to give free guidance to any of the films being made by the production houses. We will help them to tie the turban or give them free advice on our religion or any Punjabi films being made.

Ajay has carried out all the corrections and we respect that."
