Amrita Rao to become Shyam Benegal's queen

After ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’, delicate beauty Amrita Rao will again work with ace filmmaker Shyam Benegal.

For his next, the National Award winning director is going to bring up a biopic based on Maharani Gayatri Devi and for which the ‘Main Hoon Na’ actress plays the title role.

According to sources, Amrita is a favourite of Benegal and even fondly calls her 'Aamgel Gomti' - meaning 'our beauty' in Konkani. Incidentally, the filmmaker was keen to cast her in his 2010’s film ‘Well Done Abba’.

Amrita was last seen in Rajshri Productions’ ‘Love U...Mr. Kalakaar!’
