Anil Kapoor recently bagged a prestigious award for his phenomenal performance in his last release, 'Dil Dhadakne Do'. The actor played a suave father of Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in the film. This got him an award which he says is only and only because of his son Harshvardhan Kapoor.

According to our sources, it was his son who convinced him to take up this role as it was very different from what Anil has been seen doing before this. Harsh wanted his dad to try different kind of roles. It was Harshvardhan who wanted him to do 'Slumdog Millionaire' as well, a role that gave him a global recognition.

Hence Harshvardhan was very happy when his dad received an award for DDD. Shared Anil, "You know your life has come full circle when your son is inspiring you to do what you love...Harshvardhan believed I could do this and that's what motivated me to do Dil Dhadakne Do."

Currently Harshvardhan is busy with Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra's film 'Mirziya'.
