Produced by Eros International and directed by Aanand L Rai, starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, set in the ethnic Banaras and urbane Delhi, 'Raanjhnaa' (Tamil: 'Ambikapathy') is gearing up for release on June 21st. And before the release of the complete album, the composer AR Rahman can't wait to share his experience with the film's album. Out of self confession, ARR agrees that he has travelled too far from Indianness, and it's 'Raanjhnaa' that has brought him back. "I observed that the narrative story is based in richly Indian grounds of Banaras. This is what drove me to deliver truly Indian notes. But I have not compensated on the urbane feelings in the Delhi settings" says the composer. He also reveals that the viral track 'Tum Tak' is not actually what it is. "When I first edited the song, I wasn't happy with the output. We added a few extra bits and reworked on it, and the song changed entirely" he said.

Speaking on the lyrics, AR Rahman said "From my experience with him in 'Rockstar', I knew that Irshad Kamil is the right choice for lyrics. And Aanand was in agreement to that. So it was combined decision and Irshad has done an excellent job as always."
